Server Moderation & Ban Guidelines

Official moderation standards, enforcement procedures, ban guidelines, and game-specific rules for [RS] Discord and game servers.

These guidelines establish consistent moderation and enforcement standards across [RS] Rogue Soldiers Clan Discord services and game servers.

Ban durations assume that Admins have performed reasonable due diligence, reviewed the available evidence, considered the circumstances of the incident, and are reasonably confident that a violation occurred.

Moderation should focus on correcting behavior whenever reasonably possible. Minor issues should normally be resolved through communication, warnings, or kicks before progressing to bans.

Serious or deliberate violations do not require progressive enforcement. Admins may take immediate action when necessary to protect the community, server integrity, or other players.

Where These Rules Apply

The community behavior rules in this document apply across [RS] Discord and applicable [RS] game servers.

Gameplay rules apply to game servers where the prohibited behavior is relevant. Individual games may have additional rules based on their mechanics and server expectations.

Game-specific rules supplement the general rules rather than replacing them.

Enforcement Standards

Admins should use the least severe enforcement action that can reasonably resolve an issue while protecting the community and server.

When determining an appropriate action, Admins should consider:

  • The severity of the violation.
  • Whether the behavior was intentional.
  • The effect on other players or community members.
  • The effect on the server, match, or community.
  • Whether the person stopped after being warned.
  • Relevant previous violations.
  • The quality and reliability of the available evidence.

Warnings & Kicks

Warnings

A warning should normally be used when an Admin reasonably believes that informing the player of the rule will correct the behavior.

Warnings are appropriate for situations such as:

  • Minor violations.
  • New players who appear unfamiliar with a rule.
  • Low-impact disruptions.
  • Unintentional gameplay mistakes.
  • Behavior that can be corrected without removing the player.

Kicks

A kick should normally be used when a warning has failed or when temporarily removing the player is necessary to restore normal gameplay or community activity.

A kick may be appropriate when:

  • A player ignores an Admin warning.
  • Disruptive behavior continues.
  • A player is interfering with normal gameplay.
  • Immediate removal is appropriate but a ban is not yet warranted.

When Warnings May Be Skipped

Warnings and kicks are not required for serious violations.

Examples include:

  • Cheating.
  • Racism or severe discriminatory behavior.
  • Credible threats or severe harassment.
  • Intentional mass teamkilling.
  • Malicious Admin impersonation.
  • Serious intentional exploitation.

Admins may also skip progressive enforcement when allowing the behavior to continue would significantly damage the server, community, or player experience.

Ban Types

Temporary Ban

A temporary ban prevents access for a defined period of time. Temporary bans are normally used for repeat violations or conduct serious enough that a warning or kick is insufficient.

Permanent Ban

A permanent ban indefinitely removes access to the service or game server where the ban was issued.

CBL Permanent Ban

CBL means Community Ban List.

A CBL Permanent Ban is a community-wide enforcement action used when the violation is serious enough to warrant removal from applicable [RS] services rather than only the server where the incident occurred.

CBL bans are reserved for serious violations such as cheating, severe discrimination, major harassment, or other conduct that warrants community-wide removal.

Escalation

The enforcement tables below show the normal progression for repeated violations of the same rule or closely related behavior.

A previous unrelated violation does not automatically require an Admin to move to the next column.

Serious violations may begin with a permanent or CBL Permanent Ban where specifically indicated.

Community Behavior Rules

These rules address conduct that affects the safety, integrity, and general health of the [RS] community. They apply to Discord and game servers where applicable.

Rule Violation Initial Action 1st Ban 2nd Ban 3rd Ban
C1 Community Health
Severe conduct that creates a substantial threat to the safety, integrity, or continued health of the [RS] community.
Immediate Action Permanent
C2 Racism, Sexism, Bigotry, or Discrimination Immediate Action CBL Permanent
C3 Major Harassment, Threats, or Bullying Immediate Action CBL Permanent
C4 Toxicity or Ableist Conduct Warn / Kick 1 Day 7 Days CBL Permanent
C5 Spam or Failure to Clear Communications Warn / Kick 1 Day 7 Days CBL Permanent
C6 Admin or Staff Impersonation Immediate Action CBL Permanent

C1 — Community Health

Community Health is reserved for exceptional circumstances where a person's conduct presents a serious threat to the safety, integrity, stability, or continued operation of the [RS] community but is not adequately addressed by another specific rule.

This rule is not intended to replace existing rules or provide a shortcut for ordinary moderation disagreements.

Permanent enforcement under C1 should have a documented reason explaining why continued access presents a serious risk to the community.

Fair Play & Server Integrity Rules

These rules address cheating, exploitation, and other behavior that compromises legitimate gameplay.

Rule Violation Initial Action 1st Ban 2nd Ban 3rd Ban
F1 Cheating
Aimbots, ESP, unauthorized cheating tools, or other software used to gain an unfair advantage.

Warn / Kick 1 Day 7 Days Permanent
HLL6 Improper Soloing of Team Assets
Soloing vehicles, armor, or other restricted team assets where doing so violates current server rules.
Warn / Kick 1 Day 7 Days Permanent

Admin Guidance: Inexperience is not the same as intentional disruption. Players who are attempting to learn should generally be educated before being punished for leadership or coordination mistakes.

Ardem

Ardem rules focus on maintaining fair survival progression, preventing abuse of unintended mechanics, and protecting the integrity of the persistent server environment.

Rule Violation Initial Action 1st Ban 2nd Ban 3rd Ban
AR1 Exploit Abuse
Knowingly using bugs, glitches, duplication methods, or unintended mechanics to gain an unfair advantage.
Admin Discretion 1 Day 7 Days Permanent
AR2 Progression Abuse
Deliberately bypassing intended progression systems through methods prohibited by current server rules.
Admin Discretion 1 Day 7 Days Permanent
AR3 Intentional Server Disruption
Deliberately interfering with the persistent environment, server operation, or other players beyond legitimate survival gameplay.
Admin Discretion 1 Day 7 Days Permanent

Admin Guidance: Discovering a bug or unintended mechanic is not automatically an offense. Enforcement should focus on knowingly abusing the issue after its nature is understood.

Evidence & Due Diligence

Admins should collect and preserve reasonable evidence before issuing significant enforcement actions whenever doing so is practical.

Evidence may include:

  • Admin observations.
  • Server logs.
  • Video recordings or clips.
  • Screenshots.
  • Chat or communication logs.
  • Discord messages.
  • Relevant server data.
  • Corroborated player reports.
  • Relevant previous moderation history.

A player report is a reason to investigate. It should not automatically be treated as proof that a violation occurred.

Enforcement Documentation

Significant enforcement actions should be documented so other authorized Leadership Team members can understand what occurred and why action was taken.

When applicable, an enforcement record should include:

  • The player or member involved.
  • The rule number and violation.
  • The enforcement action taken.
  • The reason for the action.
  • Relevant evidence.
  • The Admin responsible for the action.
  • Relevant previous violations.

Final Standard

These guidelines exist to help Admins enforce [RS] rules consistently while still allowing reasonable judgment when circumstances differ.

Admins should correct minor problems when possible and act decisively when serious violations threaten the community, server integrity, or player experience.

Investigate first. Consider intent and impact. Use the appropriate rule. Document significant enforcement. Apply the standards consistently.
